Serve Day Celebration
Serve Day 2025
What a powerful morning of service and connection! Over 220 members of our church family came together for our first-ever Serve Day, spreading out across the community to share God’s love in practical ways.
One team served at the Arab American Learning Center, helping with a fall cleaning of their buildings, attending their service, and even witnessing a beautiful baptism. Another group prepared and delivered a homemade meal to our local fire station, thanking the firefighters who serve our community so faithfully.
Volunteers also joined xHope Mission in Elk Grove for a behind-the-scenes day of sorting and organizing clothing donations that will soon reach foster and vulnerable youth locally and abroad in Uganda. Others spent the morning in The Villages, joyfully raking and bagging leaves for residents, or supporting the Rancho Murieta Trails Group by cleaning trails, removing debris, and prepping paths for the season ahead.
Inside the church, a creative crew gathered in the Family Room to write encouragement cards and prayers for those reached by our Care Team, for missionaries, and for others in need of a kind word—with help from some young artists who added color and heart to every note!
Another team partnered with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, assembling patriotic benches and tables along the Rancho Murieta trails, creating new “sit spots” for reflection and rest. And throughout the morning, prayer teams drove to designated spots across the community, interceding for our neighbors and praying that hearts would be ready to receive the good news of Jesus as our new building nears completion.
Serve Day was a beautiful reminder that the Church is at its best when it serves, and we can’t wait to do it again!

Hello amazing RMCC family!
Well, we received news yesterday that we did not want to hear: While construction is looking good to enable us to enter Sunday, we will not be able to get approval from the Fire Marshal in time to open the doors for services this Sunday, November 2. Because we cannot gather in our newly renovated spaces and The Tab has already been dismantled, we will be live streaming services at 9 & 10:45a this coming Sunday, November 2.
As disappointed as we are to be unable to gather corporately together, we hope this will be a really sweet opportunity for you to gather with your Growth Group, family or friends to stream and worship together. If you are gathering with your Growth Group, click HERE to download the questions.
While this is certainly a disappointment for us, we know that God is still sovereign and will maximize even what appears to be a glitch for his glory.
Allow us to try and head off a few of the biggest questions you may have:
- What is the holdup? Our contractors, staff and incredible volunteers have been working overtime, doing everything within their power to make us ready to worship indoors this Sunday, November 2. But even with all of their diligence, there is just one significant approval from the Fire Marshal that simply won’t happen by the end of this week.
- Why wasn’t this anticipated ahead of time? There are always unknowns in every construction project and schedule. Understanding this, we scheduled out our wrap up in The Tab, fall Serve Day and plans for re-entry with what we expected to be an ample buffer to accommodate any delays. Our contractors have all been working very diligently to get us back in and have been confident that this final sign-off could happen by the end of this week, but it has now become evident that it simply won’t happen in time to be indoors for Sunday, November 2.
- Why can’t we just continue worshiping in The Tab until inside is open to us? Unfortunately, The Tab has been all taken down at this point and reigniting worship in The Tab is fraught with many complications. Our staging has been dismantled to move inside, AVL equipment has been pulled out to redeploy in the sanctuary, etc. As much as we’d love to keep worshiping in The Tab (especially with beautiful weather forecasted for the weekend!), it just isn’t that simple.
- So, when will we be back inside for worship? We are hopeful that our doors will be open to worship together on Sunday, November 9, but this isn’t yet a guarantee. With so many plans still so uncertain, please watch RMCC communication channels (text, email, web, socials…) to ensure that you have the most accurate, up-to-date information.
Church: You have all been amazing, exhibiting such grace and patience throughout this season full of changes and challenges. Amidst any frustrations, let’s keep our eyes on Jesus, continue living out a Selfless Unity, and remind ourselves of the countless reasons we have to be grateful today.
Thank you so much for your understanding here and for the role each of you play in the body of Christ here.
